19 DAYS CROSS BORNEO WEST TO EAST KALIMANTAN

Day 01: Jakarta Arrival – Hotel
Upon your arrival at Soekarnohatta – Jakarta International airport, we will transfer you to Hotel in down town for your free leisure program. Meals serve on your personal expenses.
Day 02: Jakarta – Pontianak Airport – Hotel (D).
Upon your domestic arrival at Supadio airport – Pontianak, we will transfer you to Hotel in Pontianak for your free on leisure program. Rest of the day, presenton your personal expenses. Dinner will be provided at local restaurant
Day 03: Pontianak – Putussibau (B, L, D).
Morning after breakfast, we will transfer you to Supadio Airport to catch your domestic flight to Putussibau airport. This will take 1,5 hours fly to the Heart of Borneo land. Lunch will be provided en route and afterward we will stay overnight at simple hotel (losmen) in Putussibau
Day 04: Putusibau – Lapung Or Bungan (B, L, D).
After breakfast we will have to leave Putussibau by long boat, its take 7 hours drive, for exciting an adventure on the Kapuas Head River. We have full day trip down streams on Kapuas River to Bungan River by long boat pass some rapids. On early evening you will reach Lapung or Bungan rivers. During boating up, lunch will be provided en route. Dinner and overnight in local house
Day 05: Lapung Or Bungan – Tanjung Lokang (B,L,D).
After breakfast, we will do short sightseeing at Bungan Village. Afterward we will continue up the stream by long boat. It will take about 8 to10 hours. Lunch will be provided en route. On the evening you will reach Tanjung Lokang. Dinner and overnight at local house
Day 06: Tanjung Lokang – Sungai Bulet (B, L, D).
In your trip will be accompanied with porters across high land: dry rice field, cave with the typically six or seven hours walking per day plus breaks. Meals are prepared and we will have to stay overnight on the river side (camping by dome tent)
Day 07: Sungai Bulet – Sungai Borakan (B, L, D).
After breakfast, we will leave Bullet area, escorted by porters cross Bullet River. We will do trekking activity as Day 06. Meals are prepared en route. Overnight around the river bank (camping)
Day 08: Sungai Borakan – Sungai Lea (B, L, D).
Every day the tour is never boring, there is always something new to see and explore the distance, deep and exotic in the interior of this Borneo island with the river cruising. Meals are prepared and overnight around the river bank
Day 09: Sungai Lea – Piang Lo’ong (Under Muller) (B, L, D).
Early morning after breakfast, we will do trakking approximetly 6 to 7 hours. Meals are prepared by our team and overnight on the river bank (camping)
Day10: Piang Lo’ong – Muller Range (East Kalimantan) (B, L, D).
After simple breakfast, we will trekking through primary rain forest & Muller Range where we will enjoy the beautiful views, fishing, experiencing the jungle, encounter many difficult rapids, and crossing the borderline of the East and Central Kalimantan, a tangled jungle plateau 780 meter high between Tanjung Lokang (West) and Long Apari (East). This area is bordered of three Kalimantan Provinces (East, Central and West Kalimantan) is the most isolated and the most traditional settlements of the Dayak Tribe where you can find the original art and cultures as well as real stuffs from their head hunting age. Meals provided en route and stay overnight at jungle camp or the villager’s house with basic facilities
Day 11: Muller Range – Muara Cuting (B, L, D).
After breakfast, we will walking about 7 hours down stream of Hubungan River. Meals are prepared and overnight on the river bank (B, L, D).
Day 12: Muara Cutting – Saite Or Mahakam River
Now, we will hiking and climbing up the hill and crossing the river. we will walking about 6 to 7 hours a day. Meals are prepared and overnight in tent
Day 13: Muara Sai’te – Tiong Ohang (B, L, D).
After breakfast, we will trekking approximately three hours to reach Mahakam River then boating down by long boat to Tiong Ohang. We will passing some amazing rapids and where you will see beautiful views along the river side. Meals are prepared en route and overnight in Tiong Ohang Village
Day 14: Tiong Ohang – Long Bagun (B, L, D).
Early morning, we will leave Tiong Ohang by long boat. It take about 8 to 10 hours ride. In the evening arrive in Long Bagun
Day 15 – 16: Long Bagun – Loa Janan – Samarinda (B, L, D).
After breakfast boarding on the public boat for three days Mahakam River cruise toward the west. Passing through some Dayak Villages such as Kota Bangun, Muara Muntai, Datah Bilang and ending at Long Bagun. Proceed to Samarinda for stay overnight
Day 17: Samarinda – Balik Papan (B, L).
Morning after breakfast, we transfer you by car to Balikpapan, it take about 3 hours drive. Upon arrive in Balikapan in the late afternoon, check in into the hotel. Dinner serve on your personal expenses
Day 18: Free Program (B)

Morning after breakfast, transfer to the Balikpapan Airport for your next destination (B).
7 DAYS EAST KALIMANTAN WILD LIFE GLANCE

Day 01: BALIKPAPAN, SANGATTA ( L,D)
Upon arrival at Balikpapan airport, meeting service and transfer of aboput six hours to Sangatta. Check in at Simple Hotel, for dinner and overnight.
Day 02: SANGATTA, KUTAI NATIONAL PARK (B,L,D)
Early in the morning by motorcanoe upstream Sangatta River into the jungle of Kutai National Reserve. Upon Arrival at Prefab Orangutan Research station, we will drop our stuff and direct start a jungle trek into the forest, looking for wild life and Orang Utans, which are completly wild. Afternoon return to Prefab Station for Lunch and rest, late afternoon another forest trek searching for wild and experience the beauty of the Rainforest flora and Fauna here.Dinner and overnight at Prefab Research station.
Day 03: KUTAI RESERVE, MUARA WAHAU (B,L,D)
After Breakfast hike into the jungle of Kutai National Reserve, to get a last glance of it’s jungle, before we leave to Muara Wahau, Lunch on the way, visit the Long Ear Dayak Kenyah at the old longhouse at Miau Baru village, check in at guesthouse, evening Dayak ceremony dance will be prepaired.
Day 04: MUARA WAHAU, RAIN FOREST (B,L,D)
After Breakfast, visit the Tropical Forest of Wehea which is a 38000 hectar of production forest of the Dayak people at Muara Wahau area, the diversity of flora and fauna with 60 kinds of tropical rain forest trees, and more then 100 wild life species can be found here, as orangutans, deer, and many kinds of birds. Lunch en-route, overnight at guesthouse.
Day 05: MUARA WAHAU, BERAU, DERAWAN ISLAND (B,L,D)
After breakfast transfer to Airport for the flight to Berau, upon arrival at Berau, transfer to harbor to boarding a boat and cross the Sulawesi Sea to Derawan Island. Check in at Losmen, or local house, Lunch, afternoon possibility for snorkeling or Derawan village sightseeing.
Day 06 : DERAWAN & SANGALAKI ISLAND (B,L,D)
Early in the morning by fishermen’s boat to Sangalaki Island which is called the Capital of The Mantas Rays, many kinds of exotic fish could be seen in this area like the Mantas, Napoleons, purple sea horses, tunitates, dwarf scorpion fishes, and not to forget the Coral Sea Garden which is still in tact. In the night we could explore the Turtle bay.
Day 07: DERAWAN, BERAU (B)
After breakfast start our trip cross the sea by fishermen’s boat to Berau for your flight to your next destination.
3 DAYS BANJARMASIN TOUR

Day 01 Transfer in from Airport – Banjarmasin (Hotel) – Canal Tour (D)
Upon your arrival at Syamsuddinnor airport, meeting service with your guide/assistance who will escort you to hotel in Banjarmasin, arriving at the hotel then check in and free program, at 05.30pm joing for canal tour to see the local people activities at the bank side of Kelayan River. Back to hotel and at 07.30 pm having dinner at Local restaurant. Back to hotel and overnight at the hotel.
Day 02 Full day Banjarmasin – Martapura tour (B,L,D)
Early morning at 05.30 a.m, boating by using traditional boat “ Kelotok “ to visit Floating Market in Barito River to see the traditional market by using small traditional canoe called “ Jukung “ where we will watch the market activities that selling for food and vegetables. And we can take a pictures and some local cake at floating Café called “ Rombong “ to have a cup of coffee or tea. About 08.30 a.m back to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast relax for an hour then at 10.00 a.m driving to Diamond digging at Cempaka village to see the semi traditional activities for finding precious and semi precious stones, driving to Sungai Paring area to see the Diamond polishing and diamond outlet to see the process to make a diamond after taking from the digging area. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. Then driving again to Bumi Selamat Market in Martapura regency to buy some souvenirs of precious and semi precious stones such as diamond, blue safir, akiq, jambrut and etc. Traditional batik shirt call “ Sasirangan and air guci “, traditional medicine and etc. at about 4.30 pm back to hotel in Banjarmasin. Take a relax and at 7.30 pm having dinner at local restaurant. Back to hotel and overnight at the hotel.
Day 03 Banjarmasin (Hotel) – Transfer out to Airport (B)
Breakfast at the hotel and free program until your guide/assistance picks you up to transfer you to Airport, arriving at the airport the program end.

Day 1 PALANGKARAYA – TUMBANG MIRIH (L,D)
Departure from Palangkaraya by car, crossing the Rainbow Bridge over the Kahayan River and heading north to the township of Tewah, stopping along the way in villages to marvel at the outstanding painted and carved bone houses or sandungs. After a short stop for lunch, the journey continues along bumpy roads to the township of Tumbang Mirih, right at the junction of the Kahayan and Mirih rivers. Rest overnight in a small local guesthouse or losmen.
Day 2 TUMBANG MIRIH – TUMBANG KORIK (B,L,D)
Another early departure, marked by a clamber down the steep bank to the canoe. Settle in for a few exciting hours of journeying up the Hampatung River, tributary of the mighty Kahayan. Laced by towering forest, littered with rapids and washed by strong waters, this exciting ride ends at the picturesque village of Tumbang Korik. Unfurl your legs and unload your bags in the ancient longhouse – walk through the village and explore the sandungs placed through out.
After lunch, take a short canoe ride down stream for a trek through the beautiful primary forest near the village. Clamber up slopes, through marshes and streams through this green shady world – watching out for the wildlife, the remarkable birds and the vines growing in great loops and tangled ropes from the tree tops. Have a cool evening swim in the rapids up stream from the village.
Day 3 TUMBANG KORIK – TUMBANG ANOI – TEWAH (B,L,D)
Set off early for this long exciting day. Again, travelling by traditional motorised canoe, descend the Hampatung and enter the Kahayan River, turning north, up stream to the ancient village of Tumbang Anoi. You will see the remains of a longhouse, the site of a conference of Dayak tribes from all Kalimantan called by the Dutch over 120 years ago. During this meeting a treaty was signed which ended the head hunting commonly practised in those days. Visit the new longhouse built to commemorate the treaty signing, and look at the village and its collection of sandungs. Re-board the canoe for your journey south, beyond Tumbang Mirih and on through the magnificent canyon called Batu Suli. Named for a huge boulder standing upright at the waters edge, this beautiful stretch of the river is a holy place for the local Dayak tribes. Enter Tewah and check in to a simple losmen for a rest. Have a simple meal.
Day 4 TEWAH – TUMBANG MALAHOI (B,L,D)
Set off early by road for the third longhouse in the village of Malahoi. Continuously occupied for more than 22 generations, this longhouse is made traditionally of bark and has a collection of sandungs, sapatu or totem poles, and the tiny guardian spirits, and other fascinating artifacts. Clamber up the notched poles and admire the carved harumai or protective animal atop the supporting posts.
Take a sunset stroll though the village, keeping an eye out for the many old and beautiful carvings. Meet the longhouse residents and enjoy a shared dinner, listening to their stories and experiences, and enjoying some of their traditional singing, music or dances.
Day 5 TUMBANG MALAHOI – PALANGKARAYA (B,L)
Pick up and board your car for the final, long road journey to Palangkaraya, arriving approx 5 pm.
Note : if you have time, it is recommended to stay a further day and night in each of Tumbang Korek and Tumbang Malahoi, to get to know the villagers better, and take your time to soak up the village life.
A longer trek of 1-2 days (approx 22 kms over rough terrain) is possible from Tumbang Korek to Tumbang Mahuroi, returning by the Kahayan River to see Tumbang Anoi, Batu Suli and Tewah.
